Yes, most imaging studies require a physician's order. Please have your doctor send the order to us before your appointment — by fax (850.215.4045) or in person. If you need help coordinating this, just call us and we'll assist.

How do I prepare for an MRI?

For most MRI exams, no special preparation is needed. Remove all metal objects and jewelry before your scan. If you have implants, a pacemaker, or any metal in your body, please let us know when scheduling. Some exams may require contrast — we will inform you in advance if yours does.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, a valid photo ID, and your physician's order. If you've had prior imaging for the same area — CDs, films, or reports — bring those too. Having previous studies on hand helps our radiologist provide the most complete interpretation.

How long will my exam take?

Exam times vary by modality. MRI exams typically take 30–60 minutes. Mammography and X-Ray are usually 15–30 minutes. Ultrasound and CT are typically 20–45 minutes. We'll give you a specific estimate when you schedule.

When will my doctor receive the results?

A board-certified radiologist interprets your images and sends a report to your referring physician within 24–48 hours. For urgent findings, we contact your physician immediately.

Is the Open MRI suitable for claustrophobic patients?

Yes — our True High Field Open MRI is specifically designed for patients who experience anxiety in traditional closed-bore scanners. The wide, open design significantly reduces the enclosed feeling while still delivering high field image quality. Most patients who have avoided MRI due to claustrophobia do very well in our system.
